Five Projects That Reflect Spartanburg’s Growth

Spartanburg is experiencing an exciting period of growth, and that progress can be seen throughout the community. New investments in healthcare, education, public services, and downtown development are creating spaces that will serve local families for many years.

Hodge Floors is grateful to be involved in five large projects that reflect this momentum. These projects represent only a portion of the commercial work currently underway, but each one offers a meaningful example of how Spartanburg continues to move forward.

The New CONA Medical Facility

The new Carolina Orthopedic & Neurosurgical Associates facility will expand access to specialized medical care in Spartanburg. Construction is underway, and the facility is expected to open in fall 2026.

Hodge Floors is working with Harper General Contractors and McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture on the project. The flooring selections will support the needs of each area while contributing to a comfortable environment for patients and staff.

The New Jesse Boyd Elementary School

The new Jesse Boyd Elementary School will provide students and teachers with a modern space that supports learning and community connection. Hodge Floors is working with Harper General Contractors and McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture on the project.

Hodge Floors is proud to have been awarded the flooring work for the school. Installation has not started yet, but planning is underway as the project moves toward its expected opening next school year.
This project is especially meaningful because it will become part of the daily lives of Spartanburg families for generations.

The New Spartanburg County Building

The new Spartanburg County building will be one of the largest public facilities in the area. The building will be larger than the recent courthouse project, and will provide additional space for county services.

As Spartanburg County continues to grow, facilities like this one will help local employees serve residents more effectively. Hodge Floors is honored to have been awarded the flooring contract, and looking forward to contributing to this project, alongside Robins and Morton as the Contractor and McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture, on a project that will support the community for many years.

Johnson Development Associates’ Downtown Investments

Downtown Spartanburg continues to evolve, with major investments creating new opportunities for business, entertainment, dining, and community life. Two important parts of that continued growth are The Grain Building, located across from Cribb’s Kitchen and Main Street Pub, and the 189 Building, located on the former Herald-Journal property.

Led by Johnson Development Associates, both redevelopment projects reflect a commitment to preserving the character of downtown Spartanburg while creating spaces that will serve the community for years to come. The buildings are part of the larger downtown Project Core initiative, which also included Fifth Third Park.

Hodge Floors is honored to have been awarded the flooring work for both The Grain Building and the 189 Building. Our team already completed the flooring at Fifth Third Park, giving us the opportunity to contribute to several projects that are helping shape this exciting chapter for downtown Spartanburg.

Brasfield and Gorrie is serving as the general contractor for the two redevelopment projects, with Little Diversified Architectural Consulting and McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture providing architectural services.
Hodge Floors is grateful to work alongside these talented teams and looks forward to seeing both buildings become lasting parts of downtown Spartanburg’s future.

Celebrating Spartanburg’s Next Chapter

The community is creating better spaces for medical care, education, local government, and downtown life. Each project serves a different purpose, but every one reflects confidence in Spartanburg’s future. Hodge Floors has called this community home for more than 60 years. It is a privilege to continue working in a place that is growing with such purpose while remaining proud of the history that made it special.
