Spartanburg High School’s Community Dedication

It’s official! After two years of construction and many years of dreaming and planning…the new, $136 Million Spartanburg High School opened its doors to 2,500 eager students at the new 189-acre site. The new campus include a 1,000-seat Fine Arts Center, a 7,500-seat athletic stadium, and a 2,500-seat arena.

Hodge Floors was honored to have been a part of such a community landmark. After all, our father, as well as all seven Hodge children, attended Spartanburg High School. So, one could say we had a vested interest in making sure this project was beyond successful!

LET US KNOW HOW WE CAN HELP

Over the past year, Hodge Floors has worked alongside administrators from Spartanburg School District 7, as well as designer Lynne Wilson from McMillan Pazdan Smith, to provide beautiful, functional and budget-friendly flooring for the new school. Certain areas of the flooring design “required creatively and intentionally making impactful spaces,” noted Lynne Wilson. "We had to be thoughtful about how we made flooring choices, including high-traffic carpets in just the right patterns and Spartan-High-hues that would look modern and inspiring, yet stand up to decades of learners gracing the spaces."

The last phase of our project was in preparation for the January 12th school dedication and community open house. Our Hodge Floors team worked around the clock in the weeks before and after Christmas to complete the finishing touches. We couldn’t be happier with the results! What a tremendous project and a truly inspiring place to create the leaders of tomorrow.

On behalf of our Hodge Floors family and McMillan Pazdan Smith, thank you Spartanburg District 7 for the opportunity to work on such a meaningful project that’s very close to our family’s heart!
